Thierry Germain, emblematic Loire winemaker, is at the head of Domaine des Roches Neuves which is located just 5 kilometers from Saumur, in the heart of the Saumur Champigny appellations for red wines and Saumur for white wines. The vineyard is divided into 61 plots of a total of 28 hectares. This has the advantage of bringing together a great diversity of terroir with chalky, sandy or clayey soils. The subsoil is mainly limestone, a real characteristic of Saumur Champigny wines.
Clos de l'Echelier is a 100% Cabernet Franc red wine. It is a single-plot wine, all the grapes used to make this great Loire wine come from a single plot. The result is a distinctive and elegant wine with notes of red fruits and a full and generous mouthfeel.
This bottle of Thierry Germain Domaine des Roches Neuves Clos de l'Echelier 2022 can be enjoyed in its youth, and can also be kept for at least ten years so that it reveals other aromas when tasting.
