Thierry Germain, emblematic Loire winemaker, is at the head of Domaine des Roches Neuves which is located just 5 kilometers from Saumur, in the heart of the Saumur Champigny appellations for red wines and Saumur for white wines. The vineyard is divided into 61 plots of a total of 28 hectares. This has the advantage of bringing together a great diversity of terroir with chalky, sandy or clayey soils. The subsoil is mainly limestone, a real characteristic of Saumur Champigny wines.
L'Echelier is a white wine made from a single plot facing the Loire, 100% Chenin. The draining sandy soil and the limestone subsoil give this great wine a pure and mineral character when tasting in addition to the fruity and floral notes that the grape naturally offers.
This bottle of Thierry Germain Domaine des Roches Neuves l'Echelier 2022 can be enjoyed now, or kept in the cellar for ten years.
