Château Valandraud

1996

Saint Emilion

1er Grand Cru Classé

Red - 0,75 l

Château Valandraud is a very recent adventure, what we call a garage wine. In fact, it was born in Saint-Emilion in 1991 with only 0.6 hectares of vines and a garage converted into a winery. In this type of viticulture, the vinification is very careful resulting in very concentrated and precise wines. Building on its success thanks to the quality of its wines, Château Valandraud today extends over more than 10 hectares and is one of the great red wines of Bordeaux, it thus boasts the rank of premier grand cru classified in Saint-Emilion .
Like the majority of great wines in the surrounding area, it is located on a clay-limestone plateau and has a majority of Merlot (70%), then Cabernet Franc (25%), Cabernet Sauvignon (5%).
This bottle of Château Valandraud 1996 comes from a very good vintage in the Bordeaux region, the wine is still at its peak now, no need to decant before tasting.
