At the head of the family estate since 1996, Christine Vernay has had a string of successes with her various vintages, making Domaine Georges Vernay today one of the most emblematic in the northern Rhône Valley. Red wines and white wines are produced from a 24-hectare vineyard with certification in organic viticulture. Spread across 3 different appellations (Condrieu, Côte-Rôtie and Saint-Joseph), Christine Vernay's wines are distinguished and fine, we find in particular in the red wines all the charm and freshness of the spices characteristic of Syrah from the northern Rhône .
“Blonde du Seigneur” is a red wine made from several plots located in the Côte-Rôtie appellation. It is a wine with a typical “Côte Blonde” terroir which brings finesse and elegance. In addition, 5% of the white Viognier grape variety is added to the 95% Syrah blend, adding a floral side which highlights these characteristics. The result is a red wine that is both very aromatic and very fine.
This magnum of Georges Vernay Côte Rôtie Blonde du Seigneur 2021 is still a little young and will keep very well in the cellar, especially in this 1.5 liter format. It will be at its peak between 2025 and 2035.
