Those bottles have only been stored in two cellars, the winemaker's and ours.

Based in Ampuis, on the banks of the Rhône in the heart of the Côte Rôtie, Maison Guigal produces a very wide range of wines, white and red, in all the main appellations of the Rhône valley.

Château d'Ampuis is the meeting of seven terroirs in Côte-Rôtie, three in Côte Blonde and four in Côte Brune. This red wine thus presents a beautiful complexity resulting from the finesse of the Côte Blonde on the one hand and the power of the Côte Brune on the other. A portion of Viognier (7%) is introduced into this Syrah wine as is sometimes customary in great Côte-Rôtie wines. Finally, quite extensive aging for 38 months in new oak barrels adds aromatic notes of vanilla to the aromas of black fruits and spices present in this emblematic red wine from Maison Guigal.
